Shabana Starlets are set to make their historic debut in the FKF Women’s Premier League today when they face Kayole Starlets at Dandora Stadium in Nairobi.
The match is scheduled for 3:30 PM, with the Kisii-based side beginning life in Kenya’s top-flight women’s football league after securing promotion at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Shabana Starlets earned their place in the Premier League after an impressive campaign in the Women’s National Super League, where they were crowned champions following their promotion-winning season. They sealed the NSL title after overcoming Mathare United Women on penalties following a goalless final.
Now, the focus shifts to the top flight, where the team will face a strong test against Kayole Starlets in their opening fixture of the 2026/27 FKF Women’s Premier League season.
Kayole Starlets will have home-ground familiarity, but Shabana Starlets will be looking to announce their arrival in the top division with a positive result.
The fixture also marks an important moment for women’s football in the Kisii region, as Shabana Starlets begin their journey among Kenya’s top women’s clubs.
With both teams starting the new league campaign with a clean slate, attention will be on Dandora Stadium as Shabana Starlets look to begin their Premier League adventure on a strong note.
