Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has pledged that the Linda Mwananchi team will replace the vehicle belonging to taxi driver Steven Otieno, whose livelihood was lost after the car was torched during the August 16 violence in Homa Bay.
Sifuna made the pledge after reading today’s Standard newspaper report detailing Otieno’s ordeal, including the injuries he sustained during the attack and his struggle to return to work.
> “I have read this story in today’s Standard. We will replace your vehicle Steven. The @LindaMwananchi_ team will be in touch,” Sifuna said.
The vehicle, a Subaru Legacy, belonged to Otieno’s sister, and its destruction left the family without an important source of income. Sifuna has not yet specified the type or value of the replacement vehicle or when it will be delivered.
