A 36-year-old woman identified as Maureen Auma Andary has been arrested in Kitengela over allegations of impersonating a High Court advocate and fraudulently obtaining Sh82,000.
Andary was reportedly arrested at Chuna Mall after detectives received information about her activities, including claims that she falsely represented herself as working with Wafula & Co. Advocates.
Investigations reportedly began on September 11, 2026, after suspicions emerged that she had misled a client into believing she would file legal applications at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi.
Detectives are now investigating whether other members of the public may have fallen victim to similar alleged schemes.
Members of the public have been urged to verify the credentials of anyone offering legal services to avoid falling prey to fraudsters posing as qualified advocates.
The allegations remain subject to investigation, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
