Royal Media Services Editorial Director Linus Kaikai has dismissed claims that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a phone call to influence events at RMS.
Responding to K24TV, Kaikai said there was no such call from Gachagua, adding that even if such a call had been made, it would not have been effective at RMS.
Kaikai said he had spoken to Trevor about the remarks attributed to him, with Trevor reportedly acknowledging that the statement was a mistake and expressing regret.
According to Kaikai, Trevor also said he did not expect the remarks to attract attention or be picked up publicly.
The clarification comes amid ongoing discussion over the remarks and their implications for the media organisation.
