Detectives from Gigiri have arrested Obed Makori, a suspect linked to a violent robbery in Parklands, Nairobi, that was captured on camera and widely circulated on social media.
Makori was apprehended along the Northern Bypass after reportedly evading police for several weeks.
The viral footage shows a group of assailants assaulting a member of the public before stealing his valuables. According to police, Makori dropped a firearm during the incident, which was later recovered by officers and secured as evidence.
Makori remains in police custody as he awaits arraignment in court, while detectives continue their search for his alleged accomplices, who remain at large.
