Kenyan musician Getty Wan has called out Amazing Studio over what she describes as a disappointing experience while working with the production team, raising concerns about the quality of work she received and her treatment during their professional engagement.
In her account, Getty Wan revealed that she recorded two songs with the studio, including her track “My Heart.” However, she claimed that the studio failed to deliver the quality of work she expected, alleging that both songs were sent to her in demo form rather than as completed final projects.
According to the musician, the second song was sent to her about a month later, and she ultimately decided not to release it.
Getty Wan further claimed that despite the alleged shortcomings in the production process, she went ahead and created visuals for the songs, only to feel let down by the experience.
She also expressed dissatisfaction with the colour grading in the visuals for “My Heart,” arguing that excessive colour correction made her complexion appear unusually yellow.
“Those guys didn't work on my project. They submitted rough work,” she complained, expressing regret over her experience in the music industry.
GETTY WAN ALLEGES SEXUAL HARASSMENT
In an even more serious allegation, the musician claimed that one of the individuals involved in the engagement harassed her and attempted to force himself on her.
The allegation raises concerns about the safety and professional treatment of artists, particularly women navigating the music industry. However, the claim has not been independently verified, and the response of the individual accused was not available at the time of publication.
“I REGRET JOINING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY”
Reflecting on the experience, Getty Wan expressed heartbreak and disappointment, suggesting that the encounter had affected her perception of the music industry.
Her account has brought attention to the challenges artists may face when working with studios and other industry professionals, including disagreements over production quality, project delivery and professional boundaries.
As the allegations circulate, Amazing Studio's response to the claims remains important. The studio and the individual accused should be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
